in response to YourAspoiledBrat...Hi I'd like to comment on your statement where in fact I feel the same way in many cases you could be right but I am a single mom who had the honor of my daughter being allowed into this program. She is an honor student and works a job on weekends to support her car expenses. She is 16.
I am seeking public help as well for I don't want my financial hardship to keep this child from becoming what I had not.
in response to YourAspoiledBrat...I dont believe theirs any need to say she/he is smooching...maybe her/his parents want them to learn to raise their own money....Maybe the parents want them to know that its more to money than just getting it handed rite to you..

I would strongly suggest a little more thorough research, rather than repeating, verbatim, the propaganda the Student Ambassador Program sent you. Every high school student gets this application sent to them - even some who are not...
If your parents choose to send you overseas for any length of time, they could do it in a much less expensive manner with more peace of mind without utilizing their program. However, I think their money would be well spent by hiring an English tutor.
I just got a letter from them too. are they really that expensive? i heard it's like 7000 dollars...i cant afford that! and to whoever commented first, i know plenty of people who go to prep schools and cant afford to spend 7000 dollars. IDk where u live but thats alot. i dont thinkn u have 7000 lying around.
You need money to go on this trip??!?!?! Your in a high dollar prep school! Ask daddy to crack out his oversized wallet and pay for it! Stop mooching.. Sheesh, you really want the silver spoon in your mouth to become platinum.
In reply to LuLu1970--I am very sorry about the situation your in right now. I too was bipolar and major depressive years ago. Why aren't you on medicaid? Have you gone to your local social services and applied for medical? you would probably qualify for food stamps as well as cash assistance since your mother passed away. If your mom was half your income, I am sure you could get help. I know for a fact that if your on meds for being bipolar you can go into your community action services and you will get help with meds. I'ts very dangerous for you not to take your meds. You can even call your drug store and tell them and they will help you get your meds free from the company that makes your meds. LuLu your not going to be able to solve any of your problems or help yourself if you go off your bipolar meds. That should be the very first thing you take care of right now. Get on the phone and call your Dr. and get this ball rollin before you start goin manic or even worse depresive. I wish you all the best and please let me know when you get your meds. Your problems will be much easier to solve if your head is clear. Sincerely sheshe030
If you have limited access to resources like internet or even just the ability to make a phone call for a job (including fax services) Here is a listing of WORK Force sites ran by the Dept. of Labor that offer these services for free.
I hold a respectable F/T job with my employer 9-6 as a software developer. I have 35k in credit card debt as wll as 70k in secured HELOC debt. I ca'nt manager to pay my bills and feel like I'm falling apart.

i sure hope someone comes to your rescue, i will pray ...

My name is Tiffany Ladson. I am currently an 11th grade student at Brooklyn Preparatory High School. I was recently interviwed and accepted to participate as a member of the People to People Student Ambassador Program. I will be traveling to Erope in the summer of 2007. The objective of this progam is to promote international understanding while building leadership skills among youth nationaly. This experience includes meetings with government officials, interaction with other students my age, educational activities, and home stay with host families.
I am currently seeking financial sponsers to help me with tuition, and hope I can count on your support. In case you haven't heard of the People to People Student Ambassador Program, please allow me to share some history with you. President Dwight D. Eisenhower founded the organization in 1956. He belived that if people from different cultures come together in peace and friendship then eventually the countries would as well. Since its founding, the People to People Student Ambassador Program has launched many international programs, including Sister Cities, Project HOPE, and Pen Pals.
People to People Student Ambassadors are carefully interviwed and evaluated before given their acceptance and I am honored to have been selected. Personally, I am looking forward to broadering my perspective of the world and gaining a better understanding of the Western European history. Upon my return, I plan to share my experiene with schools and civic clubs in our community. This program also allows you to earn high school and college credits. I am asking you if you can assist me on to making my future a success. I Thank You in advance !!!!!!

I am a widow with an 18 year old son who will be leaving next month for JOB CORP to study for his GED and the Welding program in upstate New York. I recieve $626.00 amonth from SSI, $120.00 a month from Public Assistance and we get about $80.00 a month in Food Stamps. My rent Is $1,175.00 a month and the Section 8 program sends my landlord $926.00 a month towards my rent. My monthly bills are more than I can afford to pay and I need help with paying my bills. I am in the VESID program and hope to be able to go back to work in about a year. In the meantime I can't afford to pay my bills. I do not owe any money to any credit cards and such but just paying for rent, utilities, public transportation, food, and clothing is becoming impossible. Please help me.
